Privacy Policy

We collect almost nothing.

No accounts. No profiles. No tracking. This is what we actually do with your data — which is very little.

The short version: Dhvani FM does not collect personal information. There are no user accounts. We log a small amount of anonymous usage data to understand how the app is being used. That's it.

Who we are

Dhvani FM is an independent music streaming app available on iOS and Android. References to "we", "us", or "Dhvani FM" in this policy refer to the app and its operator. Our website is dhvanifm.com.

What we do not collect

We do not collect, store, or process any of the following:

  • Your name, email address, or any form of contact information
  • Account credentials (there are no accounts)
  • Payment information
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers (IDFA, IDFV, or similar)
  • Browsing history or listening history tied to your identity
  • Contacts, photos, or any other on-device data

What we do collect

When you use Dhvani FM, the app sends a small number of anonymous events to our analytics service (Supabase). These events contain:

  • Event type — e.g. "app_open" or "channel_play"
  • Channel ID — which channel was played (a number, not your identity)
  • Platform — "ios" or "android"
  • Timestamp — when the event occurred

These events contain no personal information and cannot be traced back to any individual. There is no device fingerprint, no IP address stored, and no session identifier attached to them.

We use this data solely to understand which channels are popular and how often the app is opened — nothing more.

Cached data on your device

If you use the offline download feature, Dhvani FM stores audio files locally on your device in the app's private storage directory. This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it manually. You can delete it at any time from within the app's Settings screen using the "Offload" button.

The app also caches the channel list locally so that channels are visible even without an internet connection. This cache is a small JSON file stored privately on your device.

Third-party services

Dhvani FM uses the following third-party services:

  • Supabase — used to serve the channel manifest (list of channels and tracks) and to receive anonymous analytics events. Supabase's privacy policy can be found at supabase.com/privacy.

We do not use any advertising SDKs, social media trackers, or analytics platforms that profile users.

Children's privacy

Dhvani FM does not knowingly collect data from children. Because we collect no personal data from anyone, no special handling is required. The app is suitable for all ages.

Data retention

Anonymous analytics events are retained for up to 12 months and then deleted. Because these events contain no personal information, there is nothing to request deletion of — but if you have a concern, you can contact us at the address below.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete on our end. If you have downloaded audio files to your device, you can remove them at any time via Settings → Offload.

Changes to this policy

If we ever change what data we collect, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date. We will not retroactively apply changes to data collected under a previous policy.
